2019 Recap & Reflections

“Before healing others, heal yourself.”

– Gambian saying

Well, 2019 has certainly been one to remember. Battling an unknown illness that leads to battling one’s emotions and self-worth was and still is a major part of this years struggle.

What can I say that was good that happened this year? Honestly it was a struggle. The best thing that happened is that I did get to cruise a couple of times, one this past April with my wonderful niece and one over the Christmas break on the beautiful Carnival Sunshine in my dream stateroom – the “Captain’s Suite”. I did take some time to make a couple of trips on my own with new experiences and seeing friends in Florida along with a new experience of visiting the LGBTQIA campground in Dewey Rose, Georgia!

I never thought I would go to a “gay campground” in my life, but it was truly one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had. Forgive me for no pictures, but you can check them out here: http://camptheriversedge.com. I made new friends from all over – including some from the Charlotte area. I definitely plan to go back.

The holidays brought some joy as well, new kitties we rescued at Thanksgiving and our last minute holiday cruise at Christmas. Just getting on the ship and in this stateroom I have always wanted to experience was a real treat.

So until the next post,

Live, Love & Grow.
